Working across Calderdale, we give people the practical support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity, and we offer a range of activities that help them feel happier and more connected.

Together we are building a diverse community which challenges injustice and puts the needs and voices of our centre members at the heart of our work.

Evesham Vale Welcomes Refugees

We are a small but proactive charity based in Evesham & covering Pershore & all surrounding villages. We support all those seeking sanctuary in our area. We have a small Support Hub where we distribute clothing, SIM cards & other goods, provide information & advice & refer on to other relevant agencies. We provide several different levels of ESOL weekly & also Maths lessons for those wanting to access further or higher education. We assist with obtaining volunteering opportunities & employment where that is allowed. We support people to obtain housing, claim benefits & access bank accounts once Leave to Remain is in place. We organise social activities & outings & support children & young people to access & progress in education.

Rossendale Refugee Support Group

We provide a weekly drop-in welcoming anyone who is a refugee or seeking asylum and who is living in or near Rossendale.  The drop-in offers chance to meet others in a relaxed environment, to ask questions and seek support, to practise English and to hear about local events and offers.

Routes Collective CIC

Routes exists to create compassionate, joyful and welcoming spaces for learning and growth. We believe that a connected society is a stronger, kinder and more resilient one. Through the Routes Community, we support women with experience of seeking safety in the UK to grow in confidence, build relationships and access opportunities.  Through our Mentoring Programme and Leadership Training, we work across sectors to develop compassionate, purposeful and authentic professional leaders.

The Routes Mentoring Programme is a four-month programme supporting women with experience seeking safety to achieve their personal and professional goals. Over 10 hours of 1:1 mentoring from another woman, mentees will receive support and championing in the areas of education, employment, confidence or communication skills. Mentees will also be invited to join skills workshops and connect with other women on the programme. We use an inclusive definition of the word women, which includes cisgender and transgender women. We also welcome non-binary people who feel comfortable within our work and who have experience of being read as a woman.

Refugee Education UK

We are working towards a world where all refugee and asylum-seeking children and young people can access education, thrive in education, and use that education to create a hopeful, brighter future. Project activities include: 1) Support in accessing schools, further education and higher education; 2) Educational mentoring; 3) Wellbeing support; and 4) Workshops for practitioners and young people on how to access and thrive in education. We work with individuals from 14-25 across London, West Midlands and Oxford, and offer training and workshops across the UK.

Amma Birth Companions

Amma Birth Companions is a Glasgow charity that was established in 2019.

We provide care information, and advocacy for women and birthing people who face pregnancy, birth and parenthood alone or against significant barriers. We offer pregnancy, birth and postnatal companionship, along with antenatal education and peer support activities.

Our clients include refugee and asylum-seeking women, survivors of human trafficking, and other individuals experiencing multiple disadvantages.

We aim to create a supportive environment where pregnant people and new parents feel seen, informed, and nurtured in all aspects of their birth and early parenting experiences.

Young Roots

Young Roots is a London-based charity working with young refugees and asylum seekers aged 11-25, most of whom are alone in the UK without their families.

Women’s Therapy Centre

The Women’s Therapy Centre has been offering individual and group psychotherapy to women since 1976. Its access policy ensures that psychotherapy is available to all women, regardless of ability to pay, sexual orientation, disability, cultural or social background, immigrtion status, previous psychiatric history or age.

Women@theWell

Our daily drop in centre is open from 12.30pm until 3.30pm – weekdays Monday – Thursday. We offer nutritious lunch options, alongside other basic needs such as shower and laundry facilities, weather appropriate clothes and toiletries.

Women for Refugee Women

We empower refugee and asylum-seeking women to speak out, become leaders and advocate for change. Through English lessons, drama and other activities we support women to build their confidence and skills. Our network helps to combat the isolation faced by women seeking asylum and creates pathways for women to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership

We offer practical and emotional support to asylum seekers and refugees in West Hertfordshire, offering befriending, advice, ESOL classes, food vouchers and other practical help.

Walking With

We support those seeking asylum in the United Kingdom or who are refugees, and who reside in North Tyneside and the surrounding area, with English language education, recreational facilities and events.

Voices in Exile

We offer practical and legal support including generalist advice and specialist immigration casework. We also offer a weekly food and toiletries bank for those who are destitute, and have a programme of learning and creative activities.
