Al-Meezan

Non-profit, non-political organisation dedicated to the promotion and development of Islamic learning for women, children and youth. Established in 1998 by a small team of dedicated individuals, today Al-Meezan provides Islamic education to over 600 women, children and teenagers in Glasgow and surrounding areas.

Amina – the Muslim Women’s Resource Centre

Advocacy: enhancing understanding of the Muslim community and barriers preventing Muslim women from accessing services and participating in society. Amina is an intersectional organisation that empowers and supports Muslim and BME women to create an inclusive Scotland in which they can contribute fully. Our work includes a helpline and telephone befriending, education, creative wellbeing and employability schemes.

Amma Birth Companions

Amma Birth Companions is a Glasgow charity that was established in 2019.

We provide care information, and advocacy for women and birthing people who face pregnancy, birth and parenthood alone or against significant barriers. We offer pregnancy, birth and postnatal companionship, along with antenatal education and peer support activities.

Our clients include refugee and asylum-seeking women, survivors of human trafficking, and other individuals experiencing multiple disadvantages.

We aim to create a supportive environment where pregnant people and new parents feel seen, informed, and nurtured in all aspects of their birth and early parenting experiences.

The Claudia Jones Organisation with over 35 years of supporting African Caribbean women and families in Hackney and surrounding boroughs in London.

Commited Ending Abuse (CEA)

Support to anyone experiencing domestic abuse (on-going or past). Confidential service: emotional support, support during crisis, helping with clients’ and children’s safety, advice and information about domestic violence, legal procedures, coping strategies, safety methods, etc, facilitation of decision-making, support with accommodation, benefits. Training of partner agencies.

DIWC addresses the needs of women, with an emphasis on those from BME communities: we work to promote and create learning opportunities for women to gain the confidence, life skills, education and employability skills to participate better in social, educational, political and economic life”

Support, practical and emotional for women and young people experiencing domestic abuse. Refuge and outreach services.

Ella’s Home

Community-based safe house offerring long-term accommodation and outreach support to female survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation. Services include healthcare, counselling, access to education, support into employment and assistance to reside in the UK or safe repatriation to their country of origin

Evesham Vale Welcomes Refugees

We are a small but proactive charity based in Evesham & covering Pershore & all surrounding villages. We support all those seeking sanctuary in our area. We have a small Support Hub where we distribute clothing, SIM cards & other goods, provide information & advice & refer on to other relevant agencies. We provide several different levels of ESOL weekly & also Maths lessons for those wanting to access further or higher education. We assist with obtaining volunteering opportunities & employment where that is allowed. We support people to obtain housing, claim benefits & access bank accounts once Leave to Remain is in place. We organise social activities & outings & support children & young people to access & progress in education.

Glasgow East Women’s Aid

Information & advice on legal rights, housing, benefits and on issues of concern for women, children and young people, like access to services. One to one counselling, support and refuge. Self-help groups for women with current/past domestic abuse experience . Multi-agency work (singposting) and training provision.

Glasgow Women’s Aid

A confidential service which provides help, support and refuge for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. We offer telephone support 9.30 - 5.00 Monday to Friday and the drop in support is open until 4.30 pm five days a week; We offer refuge if space is available and we offer support and information on legal rights including children, housing options, entitlement to benefits etc. We provide follow-on support after refuge and outreach for children and young people.

Glasgow Women’s Library

Lifelong learning - Film Screenings; creative leaning workshops; Women make history; Women history walks & talks ESOL (learning English as a second language). Adult Literacy and Numeracy. Events and exhibitions regarding women. A diverse collection of materials about women including a research resource by women undertaking projects locally, nationally and internationally.

Global Sistaz United

A group for women only, mainly refugee and asylum seekers. All migrants welcome, including those in isoaltion or with little or no English.

Greater Glasgow Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit (Police Scotland)

Unit trained on Honour Based Violence (HBV), Forced Marriage (FM) and Female Genital Mutiliation (FGM). Services: support, risk management, safety advice, investigation of any related crimes and reports to Procurator Fiscal, referrals to partner agencies and charities for longer term help. Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid

Provide safe temporary refuge accommodation and outreach support services primarily to Asian, black and minority ethnic women, children and young people who are experiencing domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour based violence.

Hibiscus Initiatives

Supporting and empowering vulnerable migrant women affected by the UK criminal justice system and immigration restrictions through advice and advocacy, resettlement support, and practical and emotional support services.

IKWRO - Women’s Rights Organisation

Our mission is to advance MENA and Afghan women’s and girls’ rights, tackle discrimination and violence against women and girls, and empower women and girls to access their rights and entitlements in the UK. IKWRO upholds confidentiality and never mediates with perpetrators, family or community members.

Kiran Support Services

We provide safe, temporary accommodation to Asian women and their children and we are the only agency of its kind in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. This is a service provided by Asian women for Asian women and children.
