Islamic Relief Scotland

Islamic Relief is an international relief and development agency striving to alleviate poverty and suffering around the world regardless of colour, race or religion. Established in 1984 in response to the widespread famine in Africa, Islamic Relief has grown to be a key, well known and respected aid agency in disaster relief and the ongoing development of people in over 30 countries. It specialises in Education & Training, Health and Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Income Generation, Orphans’ Support, Emergency Relief and Disaster Preparedness. Islamic Relief is a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and is an implementing partner for DFID, ECHO, the World Food Programme and UNHCR. Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic.

Positive Action in Housing

Scottish-wide BME and refugee-led charity offering advice, information and support to new migrants, refugees and minority ethnic communities facing poverty, homelessness, racism or poor housing. We also support human rights and anti-racist campaigns. We offer training, consultancy and best practice guidance to Registered Social Landlords, local authorities, NGOs and minority groups.

Prisoners of Conscience Appeal Fund

We provide financial and practical support to help people who dare to speak up against human rights abuses rebuild their lives in dignity and continue standing up for what they believe in.

RAPAR

RAPAR (Refugee and Asylum Participatory Action Research) is a human rights organisation based in Manchester, UK, which is primarily concerned with displaced people, and issues relating to displaced people.

Scottish Detainee Visitors

Scottish Detainee Visitors provides social, emotional and practical support to asylum and immigration detainees in Scotland, specifically through visits in Dungavel Removal Centre on Monday and Thursday evenings. Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign

The Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign started in autumn 2000 in response to the Palestinian second uprising against Isr’li occupation (Intifada). The SPSC has branches and groups of supporters in several Scottish cities and universities, as well as individual members across Scotland and elsewhere.

We provide humanitarian aid to those fleeing war, poverty and persecution who arrive in Europe hoping for a safer and better life.

SOAS Detainee Support

Support to migrants in and outside detention centres, to reduce isolation, & empower detainees: visits based on specific needs/desires/circumstances, emotion support, help with finding a solicitor or medical expert, bring toiletries and other essential items. Campaign against immigration detention, alongside people in detention to resist deportations.
