Breaking Barriers

At Breaking Barriers we welcome refugees into meaningful employment with one-to-one advice and guidance, education, and training. We currently provide support to refugees over the age of 18 years across London, Greater Manchester and Birmingham.

Bridges Programmes

Objective: to arrange work shadowing and work experience placements for asylum seekers and refugees across all industry and business sectors, by matching the skills of clients with the skills of employees of Scottish businesses and organisations. By appointment only Mon - Fri 9-5pm (closed for lunch 1-2pm)

Evesham Vale Welcomes Refugees

We are a small but proactive charity based in Evesham & covering Pershore & all surrounding villages. We support all those seeking sanctuary in our area. We have a small Support Hub where we distribute clothing, SIM cards & other goods, provide information & advice & refer on to other relevant agencies. We provide several different levels of ESOL weekly & also Maths lessons for those wanting to access further or higher education. We assist with obtaining volunteering opportunities & employment where that is allowed. We support people to obtain housing, claim benefits & access bank accounts once Leave to Remain is in place. We organise social activities & outings & support children & young people to access & progress in education.

Forestry Commission Scotland

Work on forestry policy: protection, expansion, proactive work equal access to opportunities provided by our public woodlands and forests. Funding provided through the Community Fund for community groups, voluntary groups, development trusts, social enterprises and charities who can apply throughout the year.

Job & Business Glasgow

Economic Development Activity delivered on behalf of the City: employability Services, including a Roma Project advocacting for access to services, providing training and employment opportunities. This involves asserting and securing their rights;  understanding procedures and policies; playing more active role in the community and progressing toward employment.

LINKnet Mentoring

Provide one to one mentoring support to people who look for employment or further/higher education. In addition we help people to improve English language skills.

PATH (Scotland)

Support of BME Communities for access to employment and career progression in chosen field, addressing the under-representation of BME Communities in Housing and related areas. Structured traineeships in collaboration with Registered Social Landlords and Local Authorities in Scotland. Leadership Programme; Graduate Fast Track Programme for Social Work students.

REACHE North West

We work to return refugee and asylum seeker doctors, nurses and allied healthcare workers to their professions in the NHS.

Refugees Into Teaching in Scotland

Specialised, long-term guidance and support to asylum seekers and refugees with teaching qualifications and/or experience for job search, professional re-qualification and entry/re-entry into Higher Education. We will offer advice, a Teacher Education Course and assist with voluntary placements in Scottish Schools.

The Bridges Programmes

Bridges Programmes is an innovative and influential organisation dedicated to the full integration of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers into the Scottish workplace. We work closely with employers to identify opportunities for our clients to undertake work shadow placements in order to gain UK work experience and we provide specialised employability and empowerment support using our knowledge of the barriers and challenges facing those entering the UK workforce from abroad.

Bridges Programmes is a registered charity (SCO36344) and registered with Companies House (no. 352017). By promoting mentoring and integration in the workplace, we hope to enhance the existing skills of our clients and improve their English, confidence and motivation.
