Slough Refugee Support

Slough Refugee Support – SRS – is a registered charity focused exclusively on the needs of refugees and asylum seekers. Our core programme is based around drop-in advice sessions and follow-up casework to resolve identified issues.

SOAS DETAINEE SUPPORT (SDS)

SDS provides practical and emotional support to individuals in immigration detention. We work with people in detention to show solidarity, promote access to justice and increase political empowerment. We campaign against the increasingly hostile environment for migrants in the UK, and to protect the rights of those affected by these violent policies. We campaign to stop deportations through direct-action campaigns, social media campaigns and advocating for those threatened by deportation.

We seek to help with the relief of poverty and distress, the promotion of health and the furtherance of education for asylum seekers and refugees

St Augustine’s Centre

At our vibrant community centre in Halifax, we welcome and support refugees and people seeking asylum.

Working across Calderdale, we give people the practical support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity, and we offer a range of activities that help them feel happier and more connected.

Starfish Foundation -Asterias A.M.K.E

Moral counselling and practical help (education, information, training) to vulnerable people and groups of people who temporarily or permanently residing in Lesvos or elsewhere, and generally people or groups who are socially excluded or at risk. Awareness-raising events: minars, workshops, working groups, cultural events.

Streatham Drop-in Centre for Asylum Seekers and Refugees

Streatham Drop-In Centre is an independent charity that aims to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for refugee and asylum seeker individuals and families living in the London Borough of Lambeth and surrounding areas.

Tron St Mary’s

The Tron St. Mary’s church does a lot of work with asylum-seekers. Twice a week asylum-seekers arrive from Liverpool and London to stay in the flats for four to six weeks while they wait to see if they will be allowed to settle in Glasgow or be deported. The church also runs a drop-in centre, craft group, English class, community cafe, Girls Club and Zumba takes place on a Thursday evening. It holds culture nights welcoming people of all nationalities. A Parish Assistant is employed to work primarily with the asylum-seekers. There is a core congregation of around 80 plus a large turnover of other people attending. The Church serves both as a place of worship for the people of our parish and as a centre for a range of local community activities.

Unity Centre

No Borders organization offering practical support and solidarity to all asylum seekers and other migrants in Scotland, including detainees in UK Detention Centres. Information sharing and training about the asylum process so people undergoing the immigration system can be better informed about it and know their rights.

Walking With

We support those seeking asylum in the United Kingdom or who are refugees, and who reside in North Tyneside and the surrounding area, with English language education, recreational facilities and events.
