Paiwand Afghan Association

Established in 2002, Afghan Association Paiwand Ltd is a community organisation and charity dedicated to helping refugees and asylum seekers in the UK through advocacy, advice and accommodation.

Positive Action in Housing

Scottish-wide BME and refugee-led charity offering advice, information and support to new migrants, refugees and minority ethnic communities facing poverty, homelessness, racism or poor housing. We also support human rights and anti-racist campaigns. We offer training, consultancy and best practice guidance to Registered Social Landlords, local authorities, NGOs and minority groups.

RefuAid

RefuAid provides people who have fled their homes with tailored support to build independent and dignified lives in the UK.

Refuge Survival Trust

Refugee Survival Trust exists to prevent the destitution of refugees and asylum seekers , giving small emergency grants and providing Access to Education and Employment Grants to support people to access education, training and work. All grants provided through partner organisations and we cannot accept direct applications. We do not take applications direct to RST.

The Refugee Council is a leading charity working with Refugees & People Seeking Asylum in the UK. We exist to support and empower people who have fled conflict, violence and persecution in order to rebuild their lives here in the UK.

Refugee Education UK

We are working towards a world where all refugee and asylum-seeking children and young people can access education, thrive in education, and use that education to create a hopeful, brighter future. Project activities include: 1) Support in accessing schools, further education and higher education; 2) Educational mentoring; 3) Wellbeing support; and 4) Workshops for practitioners and young people on how to access and thrive in education. We work with individuals from 14-25 across London, West Midlands and Oxford, and offer training and workshops across the UK.

Room for Refugees

Room For Refugees is a community hosting network that offers safe, temporary homes and pastoral support for insecurely housed refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable groups. Founded by Positive Action in Housing, we are challenging the “hostile environment” with a human response that is reaping life-transforming results for everyone who takes part.

As a “refugee host”, you decide how long you can offer a spare room or property. We screen all referrals to ensure a safe match, and our team are there to support you and your guest throughout the placement.

If you are working with people from refugee and migrant communities at risk of destitution, you can apply for crisis support for your clients, and for free hosting from Room for Refugees.

Rossendale Refugee Support Group

We provide a weekly drop-in welcoming anyone who is a refugee or seeking asylum and who is living in or near Rossendale.  The drop-in offers chance to meet others in a relaxed environment, to ask questions and seek support, to practise English and to hear about local events and offers.

Routes Collective CIC

Routes exists to create compassionate, joyful and welcoming spaces for learning and growth. We believe that a connected society is a stronger, kinder and more resilient one. Through the Routes Community, we support women with experience of seeking safety in the UK to grow in confidence, build relationships and access opportunities.  Through our Mentoring Programme and Leadership Training, we work across sectors to develop compassionate, purposeful and authentic professional leaders.

The Routes Mentoring Programme is a four-month programme supporting women with experience seeking safety to achieve their personal and professional goals. Over 10 hours of 1:1 mentoring from another woman, mentees will receive support and championing in the areas of education, employment, confidence or communication skills. Mentees will also be invited to join skills workshops and connect with other women on the programme. We use an inclusive definition of the word women, which includes cisgender and transgender women. We also welcome non-binary people who feel comfortable within our work and who have experience of being read as a woman.

Salusbury World Refugee Centre

We offer support with: housing, benefits, into work (CVs, volunteering, university, employment), after school and holiday clubs for 6 to 11 year olds, mentoring and holiday club for teenages, ESOL, Immigration advice (OISC Level 1)

Scottish Asylum Seekers Residents Association (SASRA)

Group of current and former residents in asylum seekers accomodation from different hot spots of the globe, which promotes the interests of all residents living in asylum seekers’ housing,  helps them raise issues; and helps the service provider understand residents’ needs and make improvements to housing and services.

Scottish Migrants Network

A network of organisations, community groups and statutory bodies working nationally to focus on issues around migration specific to Scotland. The network will focus on vulnerable workers and seek to encompass all new migrants and migrant issues including: economic migrants (EU and others), asylum seekers/refugees and undocumented/irregular migrants. The network will have three strands of work focus: ,Information:  raising awareness of rights and migration issues; provide relevant up to date information, Supporting and Advocating: on improving rights related to migration in Scotland, Practice Sharing: to actively support and highlight initiatives to improve migrant workers rights and learning around migration projects and issues in Scotland.
