Dumfries and Galloway Multicultural Association

In June 2003 a number of minority ethnic community leaders, who wanted to raise the profile of diversity and the different cultures in the area, created Dumfries and Galloway Multicultural Association (DGMA).
 
  It is an organisation open to all members of ethnic, religious and cultural minority communities in our region as well as organisations and individuals keen to promote the aims of the Association.
 
  It’s there to help people to integrate into Scottish society and play their full part.
 
  It also works to prevent discrimination and to make everyone aware of the benefits of diverse cultures living together in South West Scotland.

Eastwood Parish Church

We have set up a collection point at Eastwood for a recently established Destitute Food Programme and would appreciate donations of non-perishable foods such as tuna, rice, pasta, lentils, tinned tomatoes, tinned corned beef, tea, coffee, UHT milk and cereal. Cleaning materials, soap, toilet rolls, washing powder and personal hygiene products are also needed. Please place all donations in the box located at the front door of the church.

The purpose of the initiative is to provide food hampers to the increasing numbers of destitute homeless in our city.

Entraide (Mutual Aid)

Entraide is an established charity based in the North of Solihull. Our aims are to support asylum seekers, refugees and other vulnerable migrants living in Solihull and the surrounding area in order to facilitate their integration into society.

Evesham Vale Welcomes Refugees

We are a small but proactive charity based in Evesham & covering Pershore & all surrounding villages. We support all those seeking sanctuary in our area. We have a small Support Hub where we distribute clothing, SIM cards & other goods, provide information & advice & refer on to other relevant agencies. We provide several different levels of ESOL weekly & also Maths lessons for those wanting to access further or higher education. We assist with obtaining volunteering opportunities & employment where that is allowed. We support people to obtain housing, claim benefits & access bank accounts once Leave to Remain is in place. We organise social activities & outings & support children & young people to access & progress in education.

Friends of Romano Lav

Community development organisation combatting racism, discrimination, and disadvantage experienced by migrant Roma communities, and working towards the advancement of citizenship of Roma communities by involving them, especially youth, in decision-making processes, creating a sense of ownership, and increasing participation in community activities.

Garnethill Multicultural Centre

Garnethill Multicultural Community Centre is community facility for the people of Garnethill and beyond. The Centre provides space for a wide variety of Community and charitable activities.

Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group

Our volunteers undertake to visit one person weekly, helping to reduce their isolation, showing solidarity and acting as a contact with the outside world.

Glasgow Afghan United

Glasgow Afghan United was established to support the Afghan community in Glasgow and to get them involved in all aspects of civic society.
 
Activities - We run a number of weekly activities, and are always looking to put on more! Here is a sample of what we are doing now:

Govan Community Centre

Community-based organisation working with and for all the diverse communities of the Greater Govan area. We deliver a whole range of services, from a Home Work club at our community flat to destitution support at our main office.

Govanhill Social Inclusion Project

GOSIP’s main aim is to prevent social exclusion by delivering an outreach service that encourages increased, effective communication with black and ethnic minority communities in the Govanhill area.
 
The services provided by GOSIP include developing race equality initiatives in line with Govanhill Housing Association’s Race Equality Plan and Internal Management Plan.
 
GOSIP also develops initiatives aimed at women and young people and supports a BME Resident’s Group. GOSIP holds outreach surgeries and conducts research into how the BME communities are affected by Below Tolerable Standard housing.
 
GOSIP provides a one-door-shop service to help local people access a range of services such as housing, education and employment.

Heart of Africa

Promotion of racial harmony by raising awareness of the influence of Scottish culture on African culture and African culture richness in Scotland, facilitating links of cooperation and collaboration between Scottish and African communities, cultural exchanges, and promoting community cohesion between Africans and Scottish people

Unique public greenspace and community development organisation. Promotion of sanctuary, peace and community cohesion, increasing understanding between people of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds. Host Nation and Groundwork

We are a city-based introductory service connecting residents to refugees through small acts of kindness, inclusion and friendship. Once introduced by HostNation, it’s up to our befrienders and their refugee friends to make plans and to meet up to participate in city life.

ISLINGTON CENTRE FOR REFUGEES AND MIGRANTS

We welcome refugees and migrants who have been displaced from their countries of origin, through providing English Classes, support service and support packages, digital inclusion, art and wellbeing sessions.

Lanarkshire Ethnic Minority Action Group (LEMAG)

Forum for individuals and community group representatives from BME communities in shaping services delivery in Lanarkshire, to ensure that the needs of the BME communities are met, and that the race equality strategies are implemented. LEMAG holds regular meetings for members and information and consultation seminars.

Maryhill Integration Network SCIO

Information or advice. Provision of activities to bring communities together: ESOL Classes,Women’s Group, Men’s Group, Community Choir and Garden Club, community social events coinciding with national events (e.g International Women’s Day, Refugee Festival Scotland). Minority Ethnic Residents Group

MERG is a Committee led residents group, which was set up to empower the Minority Ethnic residents and tenants of Govanhill. The key aim is participation around social issues affecting the area, such as: housing, anti-social behaviour, the environment etc. The group has been involved in various activities, including making short films about racism, organising outings and training, participating in consultations, focus groups and workshops - to name but a few! Mums4Ukraine is a grassroots volunteer run charity supporting Ukraine. Our mission is to use our connections and our own hard work to create better outcomes for Ukrainian families and to help all people that, directly or indirectly, have been affected by the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
